CHARACTER-LED SPEC COMMERCIAL

Hell’OHs!

The world’s happiest cereal meets the world’s worst morning.

Independent submission to ElevenLabs’ ElevenCreative “World’s Catchiest Ad” competition. Hell’OHs! and Happy O are fictional; not commissioned by a client.

Project overview

Hell’OHs! is a 45-second darkly comedic cereal ad. Doug’s morning goes wrong in every way possible, while Happy O, a tiny, relentlessly cheerful cereal mascot, keeps singing a retro breakfast jingle straight through it.

The Idea

The joke lives in the contrast: the sunnier Happy O sings, the worse things get for Doug and his dog Buttercup. Every gag was directed for continuity and comic timing so the jingle and the chaos land together.

The Process

Story first, then character, then a careful finish. I developed the concept, characters and timing before directing production through a hybrid AI, animation and post workflow.

  1. 01 — Story & Character

Built the concept and the personalities of Doug, Buttercup and Happy O, then locked timing with a storyboard and animatic.

  2. 02 — Jingle & Voice

Wrote an original retro breakfast jingle and created Happy O’s voice with ElevenLabs.

  3. 03 — Production & Polish

Directed AI-assisted production, finished with motion graphics, animation, compositing, editing and sound.

AI was used as a production tool within a directed creative process. The story, characters, jingle, comic timing, animation and final finish remained hands-on creative work.
